Frequently asked questions

Answers before you have to ask.

Is Just Dispute IT a credit repair company?
No. We're a technology platform, not a credit repair organization under the CROA. We prepare documents; you sign them and remain the consumer of record. That distinction is important — it's what keeps everything defensible and legally clean.
Is any of this legal advice?
No. We're not a law firm and we don't practice law. What we do provide is self-help document preparation, statutory references, and workflow automation. If your situation is complex, we'll point you toward a consumer attorney — many take FCRA/FDCPA cases on contingency.
Can't I just do this myself for free?
Yes. Every letter template we generate could, in theory, be written by hand and mailed for the cost of a stamp. Just Dispute IT exists to do the research, drafting, tracking, and escalation work for you. Our free generator is genuinely free forever.
How long do results take?
Bureaus have 30 days (45 in some cases) to complete a §611 investigation. Realistic wins land in the 30–90 day window. Complex cases with multiple accounts or public records can take 3–6 months. We track every clock automatically.
What does it cost?
The generator is free. A premium single letter with certified mail is $14.99 one-time. The full AI Credit Audit is $29 one-time. Memberships are $14.99/month for Plus or $29/month for Pro (unlimited letters, monitoring, vault, coaching) — both with a 14-day money-back guarantee.
How secure is my data?
AES-256 at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit, cell-level encryption on sensitive fields. Documents in the vault are encrypted before storage. We're not in the business of selling data, ever.
Do you work with mortgage brokers, credit unions, or attorneys?
Yes. We offer white-label deployments, an API, and enterprise SSO. Visit our Enterprise page or email enterprise@justdisputeit.com.
What if a bureau refuses to remove an item?
Then we escalate. Method-of-verification demands, furnisher direct disputes under §623(a)(8), CFPB complaints, state AG referrals, and (when warranted) consumer-attorney routing. The engine knows the next move at every stage.

The full list

Every question we get, grouped by topic.

PricingHow does pricing work?

The generator is free forever for basic letters. A premium single letter with certified mail is $14.99 one-time. The AI Credit Audit is $29 one-time and gives you a full three-bureau scan with pre-drafted disputes. Memberships are $14.99 per month for Plus or $29 per month for Pro — unlimited disputes, monitoring, vault, and coaching. Cancel anytime.

PricingDo you charge monthly retainers like traditional credit repair?

No. We do not require lockup periods and we do not bill retainers for work you did not agree to. That is intentional — the traditional credit repair business model has strong statutory constraints under the CROA that we simply avoid by selling software.

DisputesCan you guarantee removals?

No, and neither should anyone else. The FCRA prohibits any company (including credit repair organizations) from guaranteeing specific results. What we can guarantee is that our letters cite the correct statutes, follow the right procedures, and preserve your escalation rights.

DisputesWhat happens if the bureau says 'verified — no change'?

That is the point at which most consumers give up and most credit repair companies quietly close the case. Our AI Bureau Response Analyzer detects that language pattern, drafts a §611(a)(7) method-of-verification demand, files a parallel §623(a)(8) furnisher direct dispute, and routes a CFPB complaint if the bureau still stonewalls.

PrivacyDo you train AI models on my credit report?

No. Full stop. We do not use uploaded credit reports, ID documents, or vault contents to train AI models. Ever. That commitment is contractual through our Privacy Policy.

PrivacyWhere is my data stored?

On US-based encrypted infrastructure (Vercel + Supabase). Every uploaded document is AES-256 encrypted at rest and transferred over TLS 1.3. EU data residency is available for enterprise deployments.

ComplianceAre you a law firm or a credit repair organization?

Neither, by design. We do not provide legal advice and we do not act on your behalf with the bureaus. You are the consumer of record on every dispute — this preserves your rights under the FCRA and keeps you outside the operational constraints of the CROA.

ComplianceDo your letters actually cite the statutes?

Yes. Every letter template includes the specific FCRA, FDCPA, FACTA, or state statute section it invokes. When the AI Dispute Strategist selects a strategy, it picks the citation that maps to the actual dispute — not a boilerplate paragraph attached to every letter.
